Flush By: Carl Hiaasen

Flush is partially based on how pollution is harmful to the environment. Noah has been living his life with his father in jail for sinking the Coral Queen, a ship that is only used for gambling. Dusty Muleman is the owner of this ship. The reason Noah’s father sank the ship is because Dusty is dumping waste in the ocean. Abbey, Noah, and their father are worried that the waste is going to go to Thunder Beach, which is where turtles lay their eggs and kids swim. Noah and his sister, Abbey, are constantly seeing their mother arguing with their father. Most of the time she threatens to move away, but when Noah and Abbey see their mother’s vacation suitcase they know that she is serious about moving this time. Can they stay where they are or not?  –wab

Eclipse, by Stephanie Meyer

Eclipse is the third book in the famous Twilight Saga. In Eclipse, Edward and Bella continue their forbidden romance, but there is a new addition to Bella’s love life, and his name is Jacob. As the story continues they find that strange murders are occurring in Seattle. Edward and the Cullens figure out that the culprit must be a new-born vampire loose in the large city and not a serial killer as the police suspect. As the problem gets worse, the Cullens prepare to deal with the threat themselves, rather than waiting for the Volturi, who are the “royalty” of the vampire world, to come and check on the problem. In order to gain strength, Edward and the other members of the family go hunting. While away hunting, Bella is taken care of  by Alice, but Bella finds a way to get away to see Jacob, against the wishes of Edward. As the drama unfolds, Bella realizes that she will be graduating from high school and has made up her mind to join  the Cullen family for eternity. School rolls on and time flies by and the werewolves decide to join the fight against the vampires. Will the Cullens succeed? Who will Bella choose, Edward or Jacob? Find out in the thrilling third book of the Twilight Saga. -MKJ           Click Here to see Stephenie Meyer’s page.               *****

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a wonderful book involving magic, adventure,  and a touch of mystery. As in all of the other Harry Potter books, Harry Potter and his friends must (once again)  face the evil threat of Lord Voldemort. Harry must learn to defeat Lord Voldemort and survive. This is a feat in which no one has yet succeeded  With the help of Albus Dumbledore and an old potions book, Harry meets many challenges; one of which may cost him what he needs most in the world… I believe  this book has earned five stars because it is a very descriptive work of science fiction. It is also a great  adventure and J.K. Rowling is a fabulous author. I love this book.
